I agree with you on basically everything you stated above ... my question would be, "If YOU were the Eagles GM, what would you do?"
Flacco has NEVER been in an MVP race, nor has Foles ... Wentz was the leading MVP candidate as 24 year old. That is a fact.
You asking what else a 3 year QB has done, other than be the leading MVP candidate late into a season is absurd and akin to me asking "what else has Ezekiel Elliott done other than lead the league in rushing" ... I mean, your question is just bizarre.
Also, I never insulted you and don't care which QB starts for the Eagles as I like both guys and am not an Eagles fan by any stretch of the imagination anyways ... don't take offense so easily. I seriously wanted to know why you were making strange and provably false statements as many times people that do that have a personal problem with the player they are ripping on, and you willing offered up the info you lived in Wentz's town, so it made sense for me to ask such a question, even if I did so in a funny way.
By the way, who is Kurt Cousins?

haha sorry i ment kirk, anyways the point is the system is why he was successful, not the player himself. The same issues he had in college are still there in the pros. Legitly hes a wonderful guy who from friends of mine who played with him at ndsu will say. That doesn't mean hes a good person but as a franchise qb who you are going to pay 30 plus million to, hes not worth that, contracts like that cripple franchises. If your gunna pay it to someone, you pay it to the guy who won you a super bowl, led a playoff run this year and is clearly more liked in the locker room than wentz.

Always nice to see Eagles players sticking up for their future starter. Players came out and squashed all the drama that this so called source was saying. Wentz didn't look the same this year, and I think the team did rush him back. You imagine playing a game that you love so much and to be playing at an elite level and have it taken away from you from what I still think was a targeting play to his knee? Wentz did all he could for the team to get back as soon as he could, but I think this season, that knee injury was in the back of his mind. He was sailing throws, which means he wasn't shifting the weight from his back foot onto his surgically repaired knee. With an off-season of workouts and getting the WR core back early like in 2017, who knows what will happen! As for the media, just another day of someone waking up and needing something to save face.

For Wentz's sake I wish all the drama was squashed, but the sports shows were covering this like crazy today and former Eagle Brian Westbrook even dropped a new nugget about a veteran Eagles player trying to give Wentz some advice and Wentz not listening ... also, the source was 7-11 players plus sources close to the team, so I'm not sure it's going to get "squashed" until Foles is wearing another uniform.

I hear what you're saying, but honestly last year sort of proved that there is not a QB alive that is worth $30mil as even Aaron Rodgers has a LOSING RECORD over the past 2 seasons and the TOP 6 highest paid QBs all played for teams that failed to make the playoffs last year. Therefore, if Wentz isn't worth $30mil, no way is a less talented guy like Foles worth $30mil.
Now, if you're saying you'd rather have Fooles at $20mil than Wentz at $30mil I think you could make a strong case for THAT ... but I can't agree that Wentz isn't worth at least as much as Foles when he's obviously worth more on the open market.
Regardless ... I think teams just look at the escalating QB salaries as the cost of doing business, but that could change ... people are shocked Bryce Harper is still just sitting around and hasn't been signed to a monster contract but MLB teams realize the need to play money-ball and that could happen in football too ... just as RBs have been devalued it's at least possible that every position, even QB will be devalued, at least in regards to % of cap space ... it just doesn't seem like any team with a super high-priced QB can win these days ...
One last thing on the Foles v Wentz thing ... while I think Wentz is the vastly superior talent, I think the Eagles would be a vastly better team with Foles and the king's ransom they would receive in trading away Wentz, than they will be just letting Foles walk, or even trading him for a 2nd round pick to the Jags, etc. I mean, if they put Wentz on the market, the Broncos would probably be willing to give up their entire 2019 draft for him plus a 2020 #1 which could turn the Eagles into an absolute monster, similar to how the Herschel Walker trade turned the Cowboys into a dynasty.Last edited by Jameis1of1; 01-23-2019 at 01:44 AM.
