    Wink Hello! Getting back into the hobby after 20+ years

    Hello all! Thank you for accepting me into the family. My name is Ryan. I live in beautiful northern Minnesota, yes it's cold!!! anyways, I have read many of the posts below mine and find it very refreshing that I am not the only one! I am 40 years old. I was looking for something to do on a frigid day, maybe a new hobby. I sat and thought for about it and remembered the absolute pure joy of collecting cards from when I was young. Running down to the nearest gas station and spending every penny I had from my paper route on packs of cards. Topps, Fleer, Bowman and eventually Upper Deck. the excitement was too much. I longed for that feeling again. So i bought a couple hanger packs at Walmart. I felt the same feeling I had when I was a kid. Opened my first pack and -BOOM- pulled an Adam Thielen jersey patch card. It was destiny. So needless to say I was hooked again. over the last 2 months or so I have found eBay, Facebook 'Break' & razz groups too. I have met a lot of people already as well. That's how I found this forum. I realize now how much the hobby has changed too. I made the mistake of diving right into all of these breaks, razz's, eBay all at once. What I have learned in this short period of time is- Start with one team, player or maybe set. There is way too many types and styles of cards out there or maybe I should say- there is a type and style for everyone. Take your time!!! research and post on this forum. The card world is an amazing group of people and everyone I have met has been super helpful. Thanks again for having me here. I'm excited to network out and enjoy this hobby for life. Cheers all!

    Also, I have started a YouTube channel where I will be sharing my adventures in collecting. My first two videos are pretty rough and I was nervous as heck, but I promise the quality and content will get better. Ruguy Riz is the channel.
