I hope they include Taro Hirose in the holdover rookie set

I just pulled his MVP rookie .... I'm not really familiar with him tho..

Looks like he played 10 games and scored 7 points....

Are his rookies in demand? lol..

But yea this OPC looks sweet, I'll grab a few boxes when I have an opportunity....

UD has added some new preview pics on FB today:

    Someone's wish fulfilled!

I actually pulled an UD MVP Gold Quinn Hughes rookie.... I've been having good luck with this new MVP stuff, lots of hits.... I've been buying "blaster boxes" which contain 21 packs per box (5 cards per pack) for like $19 a pop ..... I'm going to go buy some more, it seems when I buy cards locally I get way more hits than when I buy online, so I have been stopping in the local "supermarkets" every day or two to see if I can get my hands on more product...

I have a theory that some may laugh at but I think UD knows what's in every box and they ship some boxes to random areas in an attempt to get more collectors.... Yea, I know it seems insane on face value but it makes sense from a merchandising perspective..... Because when I buy boxes, like 3-5 at a time I notice I get a lot of multiples of Blackhawks (I live in the Chicagoland area) and a lot of doubles when it comes to inserts...... Look, I don't mind .... Around here it seems I get a nice hit(s) in just about every box I buy... I will get a dud every once in a while but yea, generally speaking I get my money out of just about every box I buy...

36,32,24 now 18 packs per box? UD keeps on cutting and cutting...every product! Good job! This used to be a good brand for kids, not anymore at 4-5$ a pack!

I've been buying MVP recently and their blasters are 5 cards per pack, with 21 packs for 18.99 per box..

But yea, I get your point.... When I was a kid in the late 80's early 90's I remember Topps/OPC was like 50 cents a pack, but when UD came out they were considered "premium" and they were like .75 cents a pack... Of course you have inflation so.... But I have no problem paying 18.99 for a blaster box that has 21 packs.... Yea, 5 cards per pack but still - you're going to get hits for sure.... Of course back in the day Topps/OPC and Upper Deck too contained like 15-18 cards per pack or something like that....

Funny story, a couple of months ago I bought a "lot" of early 90's wax, and it was like 3 boxes of Pro Set Platinum, a box each of 89-90 and 90-91 Topps plus a bunch more packs of 89-90 Topps and each pack literally was loaded with doubles of all the "hits" .... Each pack contained doubles of all the key cards, so I ended up with like a million Sakic, Leetch and Roenick RC's etc lol..... Not only that but instead of using "popcorn" to tighten up the package - he/she stuffs the rest of the box with nothing but early to mid 90's stars and rookies... And I won the auction for something ridiculous like 5 bucks + shipping....

So yea, It's fun to break a bunch of older stuff, it's not very valuable but it blew my mind that almost every pack had a double rookie in it.... I ended up with at least 10 each of Leetch, Sakic, Roenick and Modano rookies - it was nuts..... And as a Hawks fan, as a kid I remember just praying I would get a Roenick RC or at the very least a Blackhawk and here I am 30 years later pulling 2 per pack, lol ..... For 5 bucks none the less, lol..... I mean back in the day a box of this stuff would cost me $16+ per box and here I am with 5-6 boxes of nostalgic cards which had 300+ rookies and stars used as packing peanuts for 5 bucks + shipping which was like 10 bucks.... I was thinking to myself "you blew your loot on hockey cards 30 years ago", lol... Because in the future you will be able to buy these boxes for 5 dollars each, lol....

I'm not buying much retail, but I bought a SP retail box this summer and it was loaded with Habs hits (Kotkaniemi true RC + blue, Price jsy, Juulsen and Domi blue). I'm in the province of Quebec.
