    Karlsson, Sharks reach eight-year deal

    It appears Erik Karlsson is extending his stay in the Bayarea.


    According to TSN Hockey Insiders Pierre LeBrun and BobMcKenzie, the San Jose Sharks have reached an eight-year contract with thedefenceman which will be worth roughly $11.5 million per season - making himthe league's third-highest paid player.

    I wasn't following this super closely, but I did not think he'd want to resign with the Sharks, let alone 8 years, so this surprised me.

    I was thinking the same thing as you Don. Definitely gonna take some creative moves and development of players to take some other positions up down the road. Figured Pavelski was gone but we will see. They have some core guys locked up for a long time now. They don't have a 1st, 2nd, or 4th round pick this year and no 1st, 3rd, 6th, 7th next year.
