Does anybody have an Ebay Store?

Im thinking about opening an Ebay Store. Just wondering if anyone has one and how much stuff actually sells. Im not really trying to make alot of money, just get rid of a bunch of stuff.

Ebay stores are a serious rip off unless you are making big time profit... Check out the fees they charge its up somewhere around 10% thats just silly. Plus the only way people find whats in your store is if they search for exactly what you are selling... You'd get more more attention just doing auctions.. but thats just me .02.

I've had a store for almost 2 years now. I wouldn't recommend getting one to just sell off some stuff. You have to keep it very well stocked and organized to get people coming back. Yes, the final sales is higher than the auctions, but you can run a lot more items for a longer time than at auction. I think the cheapest auction is 35¢ and you can list about 6 or 7 items for that price for 30 days.

The traffic deal is an issue, but it's not exactly as GDScards.com states. The store searches will come up when anyone does a auction search, but if there are a lot of auctions that come uup in the search, the store items are just in a link called "see store ietsm" or something similar. If there are less that 15-25 auction items, the store items will line list below those. I also think ebay is integrating the store items now that they have upped the final sales fees for the store items.

For me, the benefit is that you always have items out for sale on ebay. Then I run auctions 3 or 4 times a month to help increase traffic to the store. That said, people do find the my store even when I don't run auctions. However, my store is very well organized and I my prices are competative to other similar items. The best thing is that you pick up quite a few repeat buyers as long as you keep things stocked. I go into a lot of stores and they aren't organized. People will have 200 things in the "other" folder when you can create up to 20 customized folders for specific sports or whatever you would like. They also have a lot of items that don't have the best offer option and are typically a lot over the typical auction ends of a spocific card. Not to say they all do, but I think the overpricing and unorganized stores keep people from searching the stores more as they may think thay are all that way.

for your deal, I would just run auctions unless you are looking to run it longterm. If you just want to purge some stuff in a few months I wouldn't open a store, because it does take time and effort to get traffic in.
