Bobby Bauer[A] RW Nine year NHL career resulted in 259 career points. Won two Cups with the Bruins and won 3 Lady Byng trophies.

George Armstrong RW 21 year NHL career netted no individual awards and a 34 point per season average. A member of 4 Toronto Maple Leafs Cup champions.

Babe Dye RW A prolific goal scorer throughout the 1920's, led the league 4 times during his 11 year NHL career. However is career average of less than 25 points/season and the fact that he played in only 272 NHL games gets him the boot.

Bill Cook RW Began his 11 year NHL career in the 1820's at age 30. Appeared in 4 AS games and won two Cups with the Rangers (an accomplishment no modern player can claim!). Despite his late start Cook tallied 366 career points, admirable but not sufficient enough to survive the cut.

Today I'm going to eliminate Ted Kennedy (C) and Alex Delvecchio (C -LW)

Both great players in their time (Kennedy had 500+ points in over 600 games and Delvecchio had 1,200+ points in over 1,500 games played), but don't stack up the the other greats on the list, especially for the Centre position. Just won't crack it.

Sorry Wings fans, but I gotta call it on Sergei Fedorov. I admit, he was a skilled player, and yes, won 3 Cups with Detroit, along with a Hart and Selke award, but his stats are padded somewhat by the fact that, due to financial mismanagement, he played longer than he should have. even with the career extention playing with Anaheim, Columbus and Washington, he never hit 500 goals,or a point per game. Sorry Sergei, you were fun to watch when you were younger, but then it just got sad...
Always looking for Senators cards! Must be a draft pick, or the card is identifiable as a Senators card before I want it!

Harry P. Watson[A] LW Harry's 14 year career was absent of any individual awards or AS appearances. But it should be remember that his name appears on 5 Stanley Cup championships, 4 with the Leafs qualifies him for sainthood in some circles. Watson should be recognized for his military service during the war which cost him two seasons. His 31 points/season are overshadowed by other wingers.

Roy Conacher[ A] LW 11 year career with 1 AS appearance and a Ross Trophy, won 2 cups with the Bruins. Conacher's career was interrupted in its peak by military service during WWII, we thank him for that. His 427 career points included a league leading year but leave him well short of further consideration.

Busher Jackson LW A career that spanned three decades beginning in 1929. Jackson was a leading goal scorer early in his career when he appeared in 5 AS games and won the Cup with the Leafs in 1932. He never won an individual award and his offensive production declined before he reached 30 years of age. He finished with 241 goals in a 634 game career. He is not among the elite left wingers.

Doug Bentley LW- Made hockey history when he and two brothers skated on the same line with Chicago in 1943. Led the league in goals two consecutive seasons and participated in 4 AS games. Bentley never won a Cup or an individual award. He was a smallish player standing 5'8" and weighing 145 pounds. He is not among the top four all time players at this position.

Bill Barber LW There is no doubt that Barber was on his way to 500 goals when his career was cut short age age 31 by a severe knee injury. As member of the "Broad Street Bullies" he would play in multiple AS games and win 2 Cups in Philly. Oddly he never won an individual award, it would seem his 50 goal, 112 point season in 1976 deserved recognition. Time for him to yield a spot in the final four LW's.

Toe Blake LW A legendary coach who also excelled as a player. He would appear in 5 AS games and won three Cups, all with Montreal. Won the Hart Trophy in 1939 and a Lady Byng in 1946. His 14 year career concluded with 529 points, considerably less than the remaining left wingers.

Brendan Shanahan LW- A long and successful career. Was named an AS starter twice and won a Clancy Trophy.along with three Cups. Very impressive career stats, barely missed the cut.
