Decided to try vintage
I have a new found appreciation for "vintage" cards. I have found RCs from the 70s and 80s are inexpensive, and low grade from the 60s to be quite affordable as well. Don't get me wrong I still love a nice 3 colour patch on card auto as much as the next guy, but it just can't match the charm of a $1 1978 Pierre Mondou RC. Not sure why it took me so long to do this, and I'm not sure why I'm telling anyone. Just thought I'd put it out there. Curious how others feel about "old fashioned, pure hockey cards".

Feel the same way. I've found a new appreciation for the simplicity of the OPC vintage cards.
I've been working on a very small Oilers OPC vintage RC collection.

I'm trying a small RC Habs collection as well. My budget won't allow for Richard, Beliveau, Lafleur or Dryden rookies, but some later cards are possibilities. They're just cooler than anything put out today.

Try looking at low grade 50s Parkies as well, they are like mini portraits. Beautiful works of art if ya ask me.

I've been lucky to work a couple deals bringing in Fuhr, messier, and Coffey RC over the last little while. Gretzky is going to be another challenge.

Love picking up vintage cards. Sometimes it's a nice break to focus on them instead of modern cards. I have all the Islanders OPC/Topps sets and what I'm doing now is trying to replace the off center ones with better centering versions. Also been working on 53-54 Parkhurst. Would really love to put together the 51-52 Parkhurst.
