No, there's more than enough unsigned cards of every player out there that ruining a perfectly fine sticker auto is superfluous.

    Richard,
i would concur with you but it not unnecessary from my viewpoint of the hobby. If you remember especially in baseball people used to get livid when folks would get rookie cards signed. Now if you look those autograph rookie cards of especially deceased players bring some serious value when they are put up for auction. Just saying what might seen like a bad idea might be a good idea down the road. Perhaps 1 of 1 auto's will be the hot thing 20 years from now. Of course only time will tell. It is a hobby and what ever floats your boat is what you should do especially when it comes to PC cards.

    my original post

dont sticker autos come with a COA on the back
in person autos would need some kind of certification to prove its validity

all i was referring to is that from my past experience nothing ever stays in the PC, eventually we move on from collecting certain players/teams/cards. and there is usually someone else who would be interested in your auto'd 1/1. it always helps to have some sort of proof .to get a fair trade/sales value.

    Nope.

I'm not again the idea of getting "high value", "rare", or even a 1/1 card signed (if you want to) but pulling off a sticker, to then have signed?

The back of the card would have a COA that doesn't apply to the card anymore. It would just a be a hot mess at that point.

I've been lucky enough to have met my favorite player a couple of times (at paid signings). A jersey, an 8x10, things like that... they come out looking much nicer than a sign card (most of them) ever could.
