My Favorite Dallas Stars Mini Set S&T

One of the most fun things I've done is put together this Dallas Stars team set of Game Jerseys from 2005/06 Upper Deck. This year and set is special for me as it marks my return to collecting and watching hockey since the mid-90's. Dallas is my "local" team, as they are the only team that shows locally for me. I followed this batch of players pretty closely.

This set is also notable to me due to its size (12 cards) and the fact that all of the team names/jersey swatches/and pictured jersey combinations actually match, and i tried to get multi-colored swatches. All told, I stopped collecting in 2008 but it wasn't until earlier this year that I replaced a messed up card with a proper version that I felt the set was complete. Most of them were acquired via trades, with is what made this so much fun.

I'd love to add a patch version to this, but that is a pipe dream and a half.

Awesome set. Always loved some of the older UD Game Jersey designs. Plus multi-colour swatches look so good.

I was also looking at doing the 5 players from the Carolina Hurricanes set, but In 15 years have not seen a single multi-color swatch for all but one. I started to wonder if this was a more difficult task than I originally thought.

I still need 2x Justin Williams, Eric Staal, and Martin Gerber ... but aside from Staal, I am not sure if the swatches would be right. UD was notorious for mismatching the teams.

Like my favoirte triple play: Bill Guerin on the Isles, pictured as a Shark, with a Stars swatch., haha!
