Exclamation How does BGS get there final score?

How does beckett get there final score on grading? i thought they added the 4 grades they give you and divide the total by 4. but i guess they dont because i got a jordan rookie sticker back today and it got these scores:

    centering- 5.5
    edges-9
    corners-8
    surface-9.5

those grades would be an average score of 8. and the overall score i got on the card is a 6.5! how does this work????????

It's because the 5.5 is so low. The total score is always going to be towards the lowest value.

This is why it is essential to look at everything before grading, especially things that you might take for granted, like centering, surface... etc...

I don't know how they figure it, but you have to say that each sub-grade has a carried value.

I found that if you keep your 5.5 on the centering, but as a penalty for that low grade deduct 2.0 from each subgrade, it works to a 6.5 exactly... Now, I have no clue how they do it, but they might just figure it that way, with a penalty system due to lower grades.

It's actually a complex formula(well sorta, takes into acct many weighted factors) , I'll try to find it.
