Pissed Off Edmonton Kid Tosses Oilers Jersey After McDavid Refuses To Sign It (VIDEO)
Meeting someone famous is supposed to be an exciting experience. But recently at an Edmonton Oilers meet and greet, one young fan was less than enthused and was sure to demonstrate how disappointed he really was. During the Connor McDavid autograph signing, a video was taken of a kid throwing his Oilers jersey into the water after the player wouldn’t sign it.
On Monday, January 27, an open practice and meet and greet was held at the West Edmonton Mall.

McDavid probably wasn't allowed to sign memorabilia that session, just the photos. Maybe memorabilia signatures were extra or something like that. I couldn't see him flat out refusing to sign a jersey for a kid. Poor little guy.

I agree, this is on the parents for not properly preparing the kid (who by the way looks old enough to know better than to react like this when they don't get their way) that he most likely would not get a signature. From my understanding, McDavid had signed a few, but was then told specifically to stop.
Anyone know if there was a follow-up? Usually the team tries to save face and send something nice like a new signed jersey, but I hope they don't do it this time.

The kid DID get a signature, just not on the jersey he brought (which obviously meant nothing to him). It was well publicized that McDavid would only be signing personalized custom Upper Deck photos that were provided at the table.
Heh, if the Oilers Organization does get him a new jersey, it should be a Flames one.Last edited by Drunken Monkey; 02-03-2020 at 02:10 PM.

An Alberta version of "The Hockey Sweater". I love it.
