is Allure the new Parkhurst ??
it seems like nobody is interested in these new cards.
too many parallels?
to few in the basic set?
sort of like synergy nobody cares?

It's probably because I was out of the game for so long but..
I like the Synergy and Allure stuff, my Allure blaster was a hell of a lot better than my PUTRID series 2 blaster... not even close.
I've had no issues trading the Allure or Parkies this year tho

I really like the look of them, having seen them in-person on Saturday at break night. That said, I can see why a lot of collectors are a little shy about the product. Hockey collectors haven't really embraced the chromium/shiny parallel sets with the same fervour as our compatriots in bsaeball/basketball have. You look at what a shiny Zion card from Prizm goes for....it's light-years beyond anything we've seen from the hockey releases.
Habs fan and collector! Main PC's: Carey Price, Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Juraj Slafkovsky, and of course...

I haven't touched the Synergy stuff other than to pick up PC items but I think it has a place in the collecting world as does Allure.

I really like Allure. Surprised at how low the book values are on the parallels. But I don't see much on eBay at the book values.

the book values surprised me too but at least every pack is loaded.

There's just too much stuff around to collect. I have a Yellow Taxi Nick Suzuki rookie incoming, I'm curious to see it in hands. The better hard-signed stuff still isn't released yet.

In addition to the usual truth about there being WAY too many products for collectors to focus on (hockey collecting is a pretty niche hobby...there really aren't many people who collect worldwide), many of these products are new and it takes people years to kind of "get used to" a product where they start to pay more attention to it and think of it as legitimate
I think in 15-16 when they started throwing products at the wall to see what sticks some collectors have been tentative to get on board until they think the product line will live-on
with things like champs, full force, contours and whatever else were 1-and-done, people just don't care about cards from sets that aren't lasting

That is a good point. I wish the hockey market would start to embrace these a little better. There are instances of it, but I do wish there was more of it.Jhonas Enroth Card Collector & Host of the Hidden Content
