https://www.profootballrumors.com/20...foles-to-bears
The Jaguars have agreed to trade Nick Foles to the Bears, according to ESPN.com’s Adam Schefter (on Twitter). In exchange, the Bears will send a compensatory fourth-round pick to the Jags. The former Super Bowl MVP will restructure his hefty contract as part of the trade, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network tweets.

I like the move. A 4th round comp pick is practically a 5th rounder, not a lot to give up for a guy two years removed from a Super Bowl MVP. He's a good fit for what Nagy is looking to do and serves as an excellent mentor and starter at a moment's notice if Trubisky wins the training camp battle or will be plenty competent to run an offense if Foles wins. He made hay with Alshon Jeffery while in Philly and Allen Robinson is a younger less injured version of him.

I like this trade and Foles will be valuable as a starter or a backup!
BakeFootball: Emmitt Smith and CeeDee Lamb!
Baseball: Aaron Judge/Adley Rutschman/Derek Jeter/Anthony Volpe!
Only collect Football/Baseball cards, but I have lots of Basketball/Hockey cards and set to trade for BB and FB!

I like the trade as the Bears might want to light a fire under Trubisky. Foles will have to learn a new offense, but if I am Allen Robinson, he might actually have a QB finally that can throw him the ball. It is Trubisky's job to lose and I like that the Bears only had to use a 4th to take a chance on Foles.

Only a fourth round pick but a big contract that they had to pick up as well.
Fingers crossed that this was a good move and works out well. I have always said, Chicago is not a QB town and even a Peyton Manning or Tom Brady would have struggled in a Bears uniform.

Foles restructured his contract in coming over to the Bears. We have him on a 3-year deal for $50mm, with $21mm guaranteed. He can void the deal after the first or second year. With those void years, he's betting on himself to outperform, opt out, then sign another big deal. If he doesn't, earning $50mm to mentor and hold the clip board is the best gig he'll find.
