    Byron Leftwich

The Jags suck, but Leftwich looked good replacing Brunell at the end of the game. 7/8 92 Yds and a TD. Not bad if you ask me. Maybe the Jags should think about giving him a chance as the starting QB a little sooner.

Buffalo wasn't to concerned with stopping the jags on the last drive... It didn't matter if they scored or not so you can not really judge if Leftwhich is ready by that.

Maybe so, but the Jags are already 0-2 and Brunell hasn't sparked the offense as of yet. Perhaps it's time to see where Leftwich stands. What's the worst that could happen, they lose another game? Leftwich was better than Brunell in the preseason and things seemed to run a little smoother. Brunell is on the downside of his career so I think it could be beneficial to both Leftwich and the Jags to get Byron a little time.

I am sure that as the midpoint of the season approaches, and the Jags don't improve, Leftwich will be in.

Same for Palmer and the Bengals

it's still early in the season, and Brunell hasn't done too bad... Leftwich has plenty of time in his career...

let him stand and watch for a few games before throwing him to the wolves

You're probably right pod but if Kitna keeps doing what he did against the raiders today, it might be awhile before we get to see Palmer. I was hoping that the Raiders would blow them out just so I could see Palmer take a few snaps, but the Raiders don't seem to have their offense in sinc yet.

Brunell actually played very good in week 1.

23/27 for 272 yds 2 td's and no int's. But the Carolina defense he faced wasn't that great. There is no downside in putting in Leftwich but I think they will stick with Brunell unless they can trade him away.

Leftwich IMO will be a GREAT QB in this league...

Given that, 1 series against a prevent 2nd team defense when you're down by 21 points does not make a career. Next year will be his year to start... don't think Brunell is going anywhere quite yet!

boy, I was just as shocked to see how WELL Kitna played.

Being on the West Coast, I don't see too many Bengals games... but from what I'd heard of Kitna, you'd think he was a poor man's version of Ryan (aka... ESPN's #1 all time worst flop...) Leaf.

But Kitna played very well, despite the 83-yard INT return by Buchanon....Kitna came back the very next series to lead the team to the tying TD near the end of the 4th quarter
