Panini lost their mind all right, but did so when they WERE honoring decade-old redemptions for a sport they no longer sell product for. They were paying staff to pull and ship these with 0 chance of making money on this sport in the forseeable future. They went way above and beyond and I'm grateful for the redemptions that they did honor. This decision is long overdue, IMO.

I totally agree with you. They did an outstanding job with redemptions compared to UD.

Why didn't they offer replacements at equal or better value in a timely manner like UD does?
Stringing people along for over a decade doesn't seem outstanding to me.

I cracked a ton of 10-11 Pinnacle a year or two ago. Submitted my redemptions. There were some that were never signed, so I searched on here and found the email of a guy at Panini. Emailed him, he made an offer of panini points, I countered, he accepted. They loaded the points up on my account and I got to shop for the replacements. Everything about that is 100% better than the way UD handles their redemptions.

    Congrats!

I "hit" a Crosby auto/25 redemption from a box 10 years ago. I didn't find an email of a "guy" at Panini, well not the right one I guess, as my email was not answered. That was last year.

With UD I hit a 1/1 Letang Artifacts redemption that was unavailable so my card shop asked me to pick 3 similar value players I would accept and I got a 1/1 Rask of the same product and got it within the same decade, a month actually. Seemed very reasonable to me. I would imagine if you buy a 10 year old product one's expectation would be different though?

Regardless, not a huge fan of any corporation just because they do the right thing, but more likely to buy their product again.

Panini has always had the worst customer service, maybe even worse than ITG. But I liked they honoured those expired redemptions.
