    MiLB reduction

Here is an article on MLB agreement to reduce 42 MiLB teams. Looks like it is getting closer

Honestly, I think it needs to be done. As much as I enjoy minor league baseball, do we really need three levels of A ball, plus rookie ball, plus the teams at Spring Training sites?

If these eliminated markets are truly viable, independent leagues like the Atlantic League, CanAm League, and American Association will snap them up very quickly. You may even see more indy leagues formed.

Since am a season ticket holder with Somerset of the Atlantic League this is one thing I have thought about since this first came out a few months ago. We have one team Sugarland Skeeters which when formed was suppose to be a western division but has never come about. Over the last few years there has been talk of them going to the American Assn so they would not have to travel. Now there is talk that they may be a new MiLB team. The league needs to stay on the east coast and beef it up there. With local MiLB teams being eliminated we can pick up enough teams to make another Division.
    Time will tell.
