I see you ca get a box of series 2 on amazon for around 65 it's a retail box. I guess 2 questions, anyone order from amazon for older boxes? I'm just worried it would arrive and are resealed packs. And secondly, retail vs hobby box, any differences?

Retail will have lower odds/ratios for certain hits, as well as not having some of the hobby-level inserts/parallels/etc. with the product. For example, no chance at hitting Exclusives or HG.

Retail still has 1:4 odds for YG so you should still get your 6 in a box.

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Who is the seller? That would be the only thing I'd be worried about.

Reputable dealers sell unsearched boxes. They crack a case, sell the boxes. If you're buying from some random dude that happens to sell on Amazon... you may very well get a sealed box, with all of the hits, but it came from a case where an Eichel YG and/or McDavid Canvas YG has already been pulled (you're probably not getting two of those cards in the same case).

If it's "sold by Amazon" I wouldn't worry about it, and there's plenty of good dealers that use Amazon to sell. I would just look at who the seller is, before pulling the trigger.

RGM81 already mentioned the difference between retail & hobby. Some hits (anything serial numbered, or autographed) are not available in retail. Others (game jerseys, rookie materials) fall half as often. If your focus is on the YGs & Canvas - retail has the same odds.

I won a 15/16 S2 box a few months back on ebay.... Was hoping for the McDavid Canvas YG or an Eichel YG - of course I got the Eichel.............................Rookie Portraits.

I can't stand those Portrait cards and I have multiple Portraits of McDavid & Eichel from 15/16 to the Present ...

UD Portraits are easily the ugliest UD and most annoying insert card of all time. I wish UD would just drop the entire insert set... I would rather take a players base card over their Portrait any day of the week... I mean their base cards are more desirable than their Portrait card.

Funny how when it comes to "regular sets", guys like Eichel and McDavid's most and least valuable rookies come from the same damn set, lol....

As far as Amazon, of course you can trust them.....Regardless, the boxes are sealed and if it's not I certainly would be skeptical.

    And $65.00 isn't a bad price for S2, I think I won mine for like 40 tho.

65 is a bit expensive for UD 2 retail 15-16. In sales, I got some for 35-40CAD + shipping from big online shops in Canada. A fun break at that price.

cardboard memories should be fine. If you're happy with the price, anyway.
