Is prizm hockey on a rise?

    Hi everyone,
Wondering what everyone's thoughts are on this. I've been looking at crosby and ovechkin prizm cards and they've been slowly but surely going up in value over the past month or so. Just wondering what people are thinking about this. An ovechkin 12-13 Prizm gold 08/10 JERSEY# Sold for 1.4K CAD. IT's crazy and ovi's blue refractor from the same year now just sold for 100 CAD. Thanks for the look, hope everyone's been safe. Happy collecting.

    Great topic.

I've heard with the sudden and sharp rise in basketball cards with MJ and all, some of the hardcore collectors have crossed over into hockey, hence the crazy prices we see on Ovechkin's Prizm cards, for example. They are highly collectible in Basketball, so to see the jump on those cards for notable hockey players is good for the hobby I think.

Might not be just Prizm cards... I went through a massive update of my tradelist and re-checked BV for most cards, and I can say that while inserts/parallels have generally decreased in value, most all-stars (Crosby, Ovie, Price, etc.) values have gone up

There are a lot of cards that are just exploding in price. Not much in hockey outside of Prizm but on the basketball side almost everything has been hot for the past couple of months. I don't get why but I guess people are bored and have too much money?

That, plus the new doc on Netflix The Last Dance has got collectors blood flowing.

Basketball guys LOVE Prizm. It's like UD1/2 but has the value of stuff from The Cup. If you want to have your mind blown just type Zion Prizm into eBay, look at completed listings by highest price. It's ridiculous compared to anything we've ever seen in hockey.

And 12-13 Prizm was pretty lightly broken as I recall. Like a lot of stuff from the lockout year, it was printed less than a "normal" year and a lot of hockey collectors never really took to Prizm.

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Does the Prizm madness extend into football? Never collected anything but hockey but I love watching Lemar Jackson play...would like to get a nice RC but no nothing about FB cards.

Interested in anything hockey, any team, mostly less common rookie cards and anything with a Team Canada jersey.
