    Bounty cards ??

hi i have been wondering about these bounty cards and what you get for scratching the code except for a ruined card ....
i tried looking online but got even more confused. i am not a university grad lol.

    for example

19/20 synergy i have a few cards already damaged with codes on the back itching to be scratched (sorry).
is there any point? does it make a card more/less valuable than a regular if left unscratched?
is a jack hughes bounty worth more than a carey price? and is it worth it to ruin the hughes?

    thank you guys and gals

For certain products and subsets, Upper Deck runs a Bounty program which encourages set builders to "collect them all" and get all the cards in a particular set. It's a chase, FCFS, usually the first 50 or so people to get all the codes for a set are able to redeem for special chase cards.

For example here is the 2019-20 UD Synergy program.

Collect all 100 2019-20 Synergy Hockey Red Parallel cards and redeem the codes located on the back of each card. Once you have redeemed all 100 codes on www.upperdeckbounty.com, you will receive the achievement cards while supplies last.

    The prizes?

The first 5 collectors to redeem a complete Synergy Hockey Red Parallel Set (#1-100) will receive the following cards:

    • Complete Gold Cast for Greatness Parallel Set, plus
    • Cast for Greatness – Jack Hughes(Card #36), plus
    • Cast for Greatness Black Parallel – Jack Hughes

The next 5 collectors to redeem a complete Synergy Hockey Red Parallel Set (#1-100) will receive the following cards:

    • Complete Gold Cast for Greatness Parallel Set, plus
    • Cast for Greatness – Jack Hughes(Card #36)

All remaining collectors to redeem a complete Synergy Hockey Red Parallel Set (#1-100) will receive the following cards:
    Cast for Greatness – Jack Hughes(Card #36)

So, to answer your question, unless you're planning to build the set, no do not scratch the card. Doing so unless you're going to redeem will take away much of its value, as well as limit your ability to trade/sell it to another collector who may be chasing the set.

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I don't think it ruins the card. Even if you can't cash in on the Bounty Rewards for the particular product. Some completionists go after a Unscratched and a Scratched version for their collections.

The rewards cards can be awesome. I just had to pickup one of these Gold parallels for my Fleury PC when UD had the Bounty Program for SP Authentic.

Would love to snag the Regular version.... Still gotta do that haha.
