Basketball legend Patrick Ewing hospitalized after testing positive for coronavirus
Hall of Fame basketball player and Georgetown University coach Patrick Ewing revealed Friday night that he was hospitalized after testing positive for coronavirus.
"I have tested positive for COVID-19," Ewing said in a statement. "This virus is serious and should not be taken lightly. I want to encourage everyone to stay safe and take care of yourselves and your loved ones."
Ewing, 57, just completed his third season as head basketball coach at his alma mater. No other members of that team or staff have tested positive, Georgetown said.

Yep, it's still out there. My city made national news with a local hairdresser working while symptomatic and exposing nearly 100 people to the virus. Apparently masks were mandated at least, but still.
Ewing is older and thus at more risk than the younger, current players who have gotten it, but I'm sure he will get the best of care. Wish him the best.

Patrick Ewing Jr. issued an update today (via Twitter) saying that his father – former Knicks center and current Georgetown coach Patrick Ewing – is out of the hospital and is improving after having contracted COVID-19. “My father is now home and getting better,” the younger Ewing wrote.
