Need help w/ dad's vintage memorabilia - includes Muhammad Ali autograph photo

Hey everyone - with the craziness of the pandemic, I've finally convinced my dad to let me go through his sports "collection," which includes just about everything from HOF & legends autographs, to early 1970's vintage cards, to quirky things like uncirculated ticket stubs & commemorative programs. I'm hoping to find information on the more valuable items, so I figured I'd start here with some questions. Everything was acquired by my dad in the early 1990's - 2010 ... I've posted a link to Flickr with a few photos of each item - please let me know if you have information regarding a specific item and require more photos for a further in-depth analysis ... thanks in advance!

    GEORGE BRETT BAT (06-09-20)
Upon opening the case, this is an autographed bat from a limited series of 3,154 bats to commemorate his total number of hits. My dad specifically chose "214" because that's his birthday (Valentine's Day ... 2-14).

I'd like to keep that confidential for now ... I don't believe he's in the HOF, but he's been around as both a player AND a coach ... thanks for the reply!

I'm most curious how to go about getting things certified / verified? And if there are any companies that specialize in such "one of a kind" items? Thanks for the response, much appreciated!

Your best is to get all your stuff verified by PSA. The thing is with the Mickey Mantle ball I think It cost $150 or so just to get his autograph verified. Of course if his is not verified not many will be willing to pay top dollar for it. So be ready for the big time cost on the ball. Take a look at how the auto's look and if it one the sweet spot so you can see if your going to get top dollar for it. Also, a big thing is what kind of ball it is signed on and this can add some value as well. Just food for thought.

Let me ask you are these game worn during the pro bowl?

DANTE HALL 2003 PRO BOWL MEMORABILIA - (WHAT IS VALUE ON SOMETHING LIKE THIS?)
    1) Both cleats w/ one autographed "TO ASHLEY" - (yes, he personally gave these to me during my childhood)
    2) Both gloves with "82" on each hand (not autographed) - (personally given to me along with Pro Bowl cleats)
    3) THESE ARE FROM HIS 2ND AND FINAL PRO BOWL (2003)

    Don -

The Yankees baseball is the actual baseball from 1964 and came with the original box/case (pictured) - would this be the sort of thing to take into consideration when deciding a "value"?

And yes, I believe the Dante Hall cleats and gloves were worn during 2003 Pro Bowl game.

Here we go on the Hall cleats if game worn 300 to 400. If you have a way of verifying they are game worn photo match it only stengthen your case. Requires you to do some searching of the web images and such but gives you verification especially if there is stains, marks, etc. that look exactly the same in the pictures. Good for all items obtained in person that have not been verified. The gloves $150 perhaps.

The problem with the ball is going to be condition. Here a example of the crazy prices a ball can bring in when graded:

    https://www.psacard.com/services/bas...adingstandards

Until you get it graded many folks will steer away from your ball due to the possibility of the counterfeit and offer a a low price $150. Once you get the ball grade and the mantle auto verified is when you will see your dollars return of course that alone will cost hundreds.

I would recommend PSA for autograph authentication and would be best if you could take all the stuff to a local show. Otherwise you would be paying quite a bit just for shipping and then have to worry about damage or loss. The ball will probably cost quite a bit to authenticate, but will be worth it.

I don't think the Brett bat is game used. My guess it they made 3,154 bats that were autographed if your is autographed. I would open it and look at it. The display case doesn't look that nice to me and would buy a new one if I bought the bat.

Is the Ali auto on an actual photo? The picture doesn't look like it is on photo paper, but that could just be my eyes.

Montana ball has UDA COA so nothing else you should need to do with that.

Does the Bobby Bell autographed football have a COA already? It looks like it has an authenticated sticker on it.

The Grienke balls don't have much value. I wouldn't bother authenticating them.
Always looking for Reggie Miller cards I need.

Don - I will upload more photos of the 1964 baseball if you'd like to take a look at it's condition.

Akaus - The Ali autograph is on the actual photo (underneath the glass "plate" / frame) but I'll upload more pictures this week ... The Bobby Bell autograph football has a dated personal photo and COA from original owner, but I know certain collectors only care if it's PSA or Beckett ... And you were right on the George Brett bat - super clean autograph with "214 / 3154" signed just below. Thanks for the advice!
