TTMM Rules, Use, and Thoughts from the mod
Hi. I have been a mod on SCF for over 5 years, and spent all that time in the TTMM area. I thought it was a good time to formalize some thoughts and rules for using the TTM Manager. The TTM Manager is a free tool. It is one of the best, if not the best, free TTM tools out there. However, it is only as good as the contributors and contributions. Some rules and thoughts for using the TTMM most efficiently (in no particular order):
1. When adding a new player name, please capitalize the first letter of the first name, and the first letter of the last name. It is polite, it is proper English, and I have changed 100's of these. Please do not use all lower case or all upper case.
2. The TTMM is for autographs and items obtained or sent Through the Mail (TTM). Therefore, please do not add in-person successes to the TTMM. Congrats on getting an auto at the ballpark, but it really doesn't belong in the TTMM.
3. The TTMM is for shared addresses. Please do not add a new submission, with PRIVATE or XXXXXXX as the street, town, city, country, etc. Congratulations on finding the address, but the TTMM on SCF is for shared addresses only.
4. If you add a new address to the TTMM, there is no need to add a comment that says Private Address. It is no longer a private address when you post it in a public website!
5. The TTMM collects the dates that something was sent and when it was received. There is a format that the TTMM uses, and if you don't use that format, your submission will not align with the others, or calculate the length of time correctly. You can either use 2 numbers for the day, then -, then 2 numbers for the month, then -, then 4 numbers for the year. DD-MM-YYYY. The TTMM is set-up to make your life easier with a calendar feature, so you can click a date instead of typing it, which takes out all the guesswork. If you don't follow this format, you will notice your entry at the bottom of the page, or showing something weird. Please fix it.
6. Unless you are one of the very few in the universe who has cracked the theory of time travel, please do not put future dates in the TTMM. These instantly come to the top of the page, and look foolish. If today is 05-Jun-2020, then you did not receive a success back from any player on 29-Jun-2020. Please double-check your entries. If you are from the future, please PM me directly.
7. When you put in a sent date and a received date, the system calculates the number of days between them. Please take a look at this number, and if it is negative, you have made a mistake in at least one of them. Please fix your entry, so that the averages and metrics work properly.
8. If you add a new address and make a mistake, please don't ignore it and add another address, with a comment like "don't use the address above, I made a typo". Please either send a PM directly to the moderator (me) so that I can delete it or fix it. I can't find every error you made, just tell me and I will get it fixed.
9. Tragically, everyone dies. If a player is listed in the TTMM, and doesn't say "RIP" next to their name (the old way that we did it), or doesn't have the address removed with a statement "When we know a player has passed away (R.I.P),
we don't display the address anymore!", please send a PM directly to the moderator and let me know. Please do not post "tributes" in the player record, with a fake entry and then a comment "RIP". Just let me know, and we can keep the averages and metrics working properly.
10. There is a red triangle on every TTMM entry. If you made a mistake or the system glitched and posted your entry 3 times, or you see an entry that has an issue, just click the red triangle, and explain. It comes to the TTMM moderator, and we can fix them and close them out.
11. If you add an entry and mark it as Pending, there should not be a Received Date, only a Sent Date. If you have add an entry and it is marked as Success, there should be both a Sent Date and a Received Date. Failure to follow this will result in the entry being removed.
12. Please do not add company addresses to the TTMM that are mass contracting with players for autographs, such as Past Pros, JD Legends Promotions, CCG Marketing, etc, as SCF does not want to advertise a company or website that charges money, unless that site has paid to be a sponsor or advertiser, and further, SCF does not want to take any responsibility for issues with a paid signing that SCF has nothing to do with. These will be removed.
I will add more as I think of them, but I thought it was time to get these items down for everyone to read.
Thanks

@TripleTTyler50
Please review #3. I can't send you a PM, but I have deleted the same 'Home private' listing that you keep adding three times.

Nice write up. Always good to teach people how best to use the TTM properly as it only results in a better product for those coming later.
