Frustrating...Ebay Woes..
Man..don't you grow weary of some of the folks on EBay? Recently, I bought a card that was $30 "buy it now." The shipping was $4, which, I typically don't mind paying the usual $3 because of postage, toploaders, bubble mailer, etc... However, when I went to checkout, I noticed an additional $3 for insurance (which was required)... Three stinking bucks for insurance, pluse another $4 to mail it... UGH. Last time I checked, doesn't $1.50 cover items up to $100 in value?

i was recently charged 3.99 for shipping on an auction.. what did he use for shipping?... 2 stamps.. a 39 cent one and a cheaper one. then when i brought it up to him he was rude and said i wasnt allowed to bid on his future auctions then mocked my auctions that i had running and my ebay ID. and continued to harrass me in several messages...

That sucks. I charge $2.50 for shipping. That comes with delivery confirmation. I charge $1.50 for insurance up to $100. Everything goes in a bubble mailer. That is why I love naxcom over ebay. They control the shipping costs.

I hate people that use shipping prices to make up for their item selling low. When I used to buy frequently on ebay, I had a set price in mind that I wanted to spend total including shipping. If the shipping put that over my price, I didn't bid. Ebay really does need to regulate shipping on cards like naxcom does.

Well, I have gotten a LOT of rude emails for my shipping charges, but I clearly state everything in my auctions - no hidden fees like some. I, at one time, charged $8.00 for shipping, but most of my auctions were higher end. That price included USPS Priority Mail, Delivery Confirmation, and Insurance. Most of the time I lost money, but every once in a while I would make a dollar or so, but not much. I also put my cards in a top loader, then a bubble mailer, and THEN a box with a lot of packing materials (peanuts, paper, or bubble wrap). I do this for more secure shipping. I now charge a flat fee of $6.00 for shipping and usually lose a little. If it is a card that I know will sell for quite a bit, I usually add a little more in the description for shipping. I will have to agree paying a LOT for a non-secure bubble mailer and regular mail does seem a little wrong, but who knows...

I really don't have a big beef with shipping charges, if it's done right.. I just didn't like the $3 mandatory insurance for a $30 card..

You gotta look at the price you buy the card at, if I get something nice below what I'm willing to pay, I don't mind paying 4 or 5 bucks shipping. What i really hate are guys selling junk game used for a penny or something like that, then charge like 5 bucks shipping..
