It's crazy to think a team could get two 1sts for a box safety. Don't get me wrong I think he's an awesome player, during his 3 years in the league he's:
2-time Pro Bowl, 1-time All Pro
2 Interceptions
1 touchdown
25 Passes defended
6 Forced fumbles
12 Sacks
273 Tackles
28 Tackles for loss
23 QB hits
PFR approximate value 29
Adams is basically a linebacker with those numbers. I don't know if he's worth 2 first rounders, especially when guys like Khalil Mack and Jalen Ramsey are also worth 2 firsts. Box safeties can be found pretty cheap, guys like Adrian Amos, HaHa Clinton-Dix, Tyrann Mathieu, Landon Collins, Earl Thomas, and Tashaun Gipson have been free agents in the last couple of years. Maybe not quite up to Adams level, but certainly starter worthy and those picks can be used to find edge rushers, WRs, CBs, and yes, even safeties.

The Jets lost a great talent and until recently a locker room leader.
His talent will be missed.
With that said the Jets are now able to build a more balanced team, like the op eluded to a box safety is not a marquee position in the league. with Adams looking to reset the safety market at or near 20m per year this was a great move for the jets.Check out my Collection!
