Here's A Card I Never Thought That I Would Own! "Roy" Do You Know?

So today I was doing my daily search on the local online ads for something I could use for my collection or use for trade/sale bait, etc. I came across the ever-elusive Patrick Roy 1991-92 Pro Set Canadian Series 1 autograph for only $40CDN. These were randomly inserted in French wax boxes of Pro Set (and yes, the backs of all of the autograph cards are in English).

Limited to 1000 (which sounds like a lot, but with Pro Set production, that may as well be a high gloss card from Upper Deck in rarity), this autograph is #832/1000. I plan on keeping it in my collection for the time being given its rarity and how it is one of the first ever NHL licensed pack-inserted autographs in the hobby of one of the 3 or 4 goalies eligible for the GOAT argument.

Information Edit: So I did some research and wrote some messages and got the answer right from the son of Andrew Mimnagh, the former President of Victory Productions which dealt with Pro Set distribution in Canada and issued all of the autograph LOAs for the Roy cards. So the letters of authenticity were indeed supposed to be included with the pack-inserted versions of the cards, as well as the "Champions" box version. Additionally, I did not notice, but the color of the ink used for the autographs was also used to highlight the edges and mask logo on the certificate. This version being signed in silver had silver highlights, and the "Champions" version in gold had gold highlights where the silver is on my LOA.

That's an incredible find and an incredible price! At 2x-3x that, you'd probably still be getting a bargain. Way to go!

That's pretty awesome, I would have snapped that one up for $40 too - and absolutely kept it. The LOA (with matching serial #) makes that an incredible find, I think. I picked up a Roy Pro Set autograph years ago.... someone on eBay was selling them (I think he had dozens, maybe more than 100?) copies. It was the League Leaders card though, and no LOA.
