Best Way To Price Cards
Hello I have been out of the hibby for some 10yrs and when I went out beckett was the source to price your cards for sell or trade. Is this still true today?

yeah check out ebay on actual SELL prices we all know cards RARELY sell for BV

Beckett is the best price for BV. In fact, you can go to
http://www.beckett.com/mycollection/mycollection.asp
This is where I keep all my cards. You have to pay to see what each individual card is worth, but you can add everything you have and know the total BV of your cards by doing this. Welcom back to the hobby!

Beckett also sells a 7-8 dollar small paperback and big 20 buck book for individual sports. Just got the big one for football :-)!

Also should I send all my high end cards to be graded? Where is the best place to do it at? How is this done? Thanks for putting up with my noob questions.. :)

As far as whether or not you should send all of your high end cards off to be graded I can only say that if you do use Beckett's grading system. Although I prefer to collect PSA graded cards Beckett's are better in my opinion. There is a thread floating around the boards somewhere that has information on sending cards in to be graded. I will see if I can find the thread a post a link.

When pricing cards, it is important to note the gap in pricing between Beckett and a computed average of eBay auction results for a given card.
The pricing Beckett reports reflects the kind of prices you can expect to encounter for cards in shops and in shows: i.e., in a fixed-price transaction format. This price is, generally speaking, markedly higher than the price typically realized for the same card on eBay. The exceptions to this are generally extremely popular issues that may have similar pricing both in Beckett and at auction.
For all intents and purposes, given a card with sufficient volume to make the eBay average meaningful, both prices are relevant and when evaluating what a "good" or "fair" price for a card is you have to establish the context of the transaction before assessing.
