The counter to this would be at what time would it be acceptable to sell a Hank Aaron item? I put more of the blame on the people buying stuff and not selling it. The demand causes people to list as they get a huge premium. I mean if you had a Hank Aaron autograph and wanted to get top dollar for it you probably aren't going to find a better time than now. If there was no premium there would be no rush to list.

I think if you own, previously purchased or saved memorabilia anticipating a time to sell, I think it’s fine, You’re not, nor do I think you should, leave money on the table just because the reason was a death. Sure you can argue that it’s a bit morbid but it’s the nature of the business. I’ll bet if you asked the players they would say more power to you.
