Also, if you think being white today is what makes people think you are racist, then I'm afraid you still just don't understand.

i dont know where you have been, but look around at your news channels in the states.

Ahhhh yes. Some of their police and other upstanding individuals are also known to "act up"

and as for this - burkie has been known to be a great story teller i dont know if it happened

According to Burke, Messier walked into his office.... only half dressed (this happened RIGHT after the game) and told him that either Weeks gets traded, or he'll knock him out. Weeks was sent home, and traded to the Islanders quickly.

the point i am trying to make is that you cant get away with anything today.
but the hawks kept patrick kane and he has been known to "act up".
not comparing the two ability wise - just saying its not always "the rooms" decision. i hear he was unpopular for a while after a couple incidents that made the team look bad.
and it is not uncommon for teammates to hate each other or fight during practice.
thats when coaching/leadership takes over and men teach young players , maybe the rangers dont have that now that lundqvist is gone

How true Burke's story is... I have no idea. He did also mention (on the same page) that he & Weeks get along great now... he spoke well of Kevin the broadcaster. I assume that something did happen, but perhaps Burke embellished a little bit.

Looking it up - The game in question would have been a 4-1 loss to the Phoenix Coyotes, on October 28th, 1999. Weeks wasn't traded until December 19th.... and he played regularly for the Canucks in between.

To your point: Burke likely embellishes about Messier's reaction.... but I believe him that something was said after the game, and Messier (along with most of the room) wanted Weeks gone.

I'm still sticking with the whole point I was trying to make though, regarding the NYR dressing room. If the rest of the team has soured on D'Angelo that much, the Rangers have no choice but to trade him.

You're right. There's plenty of instances of team mates fighting that have been settled. Lots of guys have been jerks, or done something incredibly stupid, off the ice. People get over it. There's lots of times when that doesn't too.... and players are traded for personal reasons, not simply hockey ones.

While much more extreme examples: Danny Heatley's trade to Ottawa had nothing to do with hockey. Craig MacTavish wasn't given away by the Bruins because they didn't think he could play hockey. Lots of rumors over the years why Rod Brind'Amour was dealt from Philly (and Rick Tocchett too). There are plenty of cases were players were dealt because of things that happened off the ice, because of conflicts with teammates. There's probably a lot more that we've never heard about.

Of course we end up hearing that he deserves a second chance.... and I am almost always someone who would make that argument. People do deserve second changes. What we don't know in this case is if he's looking for a second chance, or a third one, or an eighth one.

You're right. Coaching and leadership should be taking over, and trying to get guys to get past their conflict with each other. Good leadership also needs to recognize when something is a lost cause, and it's time to move on.

Maybe the Rangers have decided to bury this guy because he's a Trump supporter.... or maybe he's an awful person to be around, and has pissed off too many teammates, too many times, and this has been the final straw.

It's possible they're unloading him simply because of his political view and support of Trump, but I would think that is highly unlikely. Ryan Poehling is conservative, and supports Trump, but it's really not a big issue. Nobody is looking to "cancel" him. None of us really know the full story, but if I was a betting man I'd say it's because the rest of the players want nothing to do with him, and sending him elsewhere is just a case of addition by subtraction at this point.
