A Weird One
I picked up this card at the National several years ago. I don't normally collect Graded Cards that are not graded by PSA, BVG/BGS, SGC or on occasion, GAI, but it was a good price. The card is encased as a 10 Gem Mint but has an obvious stain on Torre's left collar. I know Gem Grading is not the most reliable grading company, but how do you miss (or overlook) something this obvious?
https://www.sportscardforum.com/albu...hmentid=188901Always Looking for:
A) Graded Vintage (Pre-1980) (BGS, BVG, PSA, SGC) in all sports
B) Graded True RC's (No inserts or parallels) (BGS, PSA, SGC) in all sports
C) Certified Auto and GU cards of players from the 70's and further back in all sports

Whoa.......Ouch. I think in the beginning there were some standards issues, even with PSA. Things seem to be better now. The fly by nights are out of business. As for that card, nice coloring, centering, edges/corners look good, but the stain...damn, it takes away from the overall eye-appeal.
Hey as a side note. Have 6 low-mid (PSA 3-5's) 1954 Bowman and a PSA 7 1964 or 65 Philadephia cards for sale/trade. You know me. Looking for the usual suspects.
