I can't count the number of collectors who are now sitting on Shane Bowers redemptions that are NOT HAPPY about their investments and are being vocal about it. Yikes.

Ugh... I really hate redemption's but this is a real kick-a** rookie class, certainly the best since 2016-17..
But boy oh boy I really despise redemption cards especially if you're buying older product for that specific rookie class but they're all redemptions - at least the desirable ones.. It makes investing in that product impossible when you know the key rookies are redemption only..
Of course UD's solution to expired redemptions is a "raffle" which is stupid... I mean look, I get it that they cant get some players to sign in time for the scheduled release of the product and they cant hold onto the redemption card forever, but I think UD could handle the situation a lot better than a raffle..
What Upper Deck should do with expired redemptions is create an "Upper Deck store" exclusively for expired redemptions and it would work like this: you create an account, put in your redemption code, then a UD employee/representative will issue you X amount of points base on the current market value of your redemption, then in turn you can spend those redemption points on products in the "redemption store" that way you can get cards you want..
And that is just one idea that would be better than their "raffle".
IMO, UD is out of touch with collectors. What I mean by that is that the Upper Deck company is not run or operated by collectors for collectors - from their graphic design team to their "think tank" or whomever is responsible for making the final decisions on inserts, parallels, designs, serial numbering and product in general... They're just a corporation and it doesn't matter what type of product they sold be it butter or cards they still would still be run the same way..... Of course they don't have to improve because they're a monopoly hence have no competition - which totally sucks and is an entirely different topic..
But back to redeeming redemptions -- I don't understand why card manufacturers don't keep these redeemable cards on-hand for at least 5 years, I mean it's really not like space is an issue - these are cards NOT cars, so "we don't have the space" is not an excuse or valid reason to not have these cards on-hand... I mean did these card companies ever bother to think before they issued redemption cards that not all redemption cards will be redeemed within the first year or even 2 years of the release of the product? that there will certainly be unopened older product floating around presumably with some redemption cards in them, and that maybe 2-3 years is an unreasonable amount of time for those redemption cards to expire and perhaps it would be more reasonable to give collectors perhaps 5-6 years??.... I mean how many unclaimed redemption cards could there possibly be??... They're all serial numbered, UD has to know the exact number of un-redeemed cards for every redemption card... I can't imagine that UD would have any more than 500K un-redeemed redemption cards that are older than their expiration date - which also leads me to this - if they don't have the cards any longer then what the heck do they do with them? destroy them? why? - like I said, space couldn't be an issue - we're talking about a multi-billion dollar corporation here..
