Retail Stores Hockey

Not a hockey fan but the only cards available to buy here in LA is hockey. It’s every where. No baseball, basketball, or football. My question is upper deck a good hockey brand and is the newest release worth buying. Pretty cheap. Looks like $40/mega and $20/blaster. Some other blaster boxes of a brand thst starts with a Por... It’s all over here in retail stores. Also, who am I looking for. Thanks for any help.

Typically Walmart (and the like) will offer some decent retail options. The old joke is that eBay and Walmart are the two largest card shops in the world.

Most new collectors in hockey go after Upper Deck series 1 & 2, with the Young Gun rookies being the best thing. Check eBay for sales to get an idea of who is popular. Alexis Lafreniere was one of the top dogs (Rangers) going into the season but has played disappointingly.

Be happy as in some part of the country it even hard to find some hockey boxes. I can honestly say in a hockey non hot bed I have never seen a mega of Hockey. What does that consist of?

I called it a mega box. I didn’t read it but it is bigger than a blaster. They had about 10 at one Walmart and 2-3 at another. It is a regular thing here. Lots of racing also. You can’t find a single box of baseball, football or basketball.

The UD1/2 megas are the 10 pack boxes + 1 extra 94-95 retro die-cut pack. You're lucky to have them at your Walmart. Mine only had some CHL 17-18 and various years of Parkhurst products. I bought a Parkhurst 19-20 fat pack in sale today.

Well, I bought a box of each. Had about 10 of each and some kind of upper deck tin box. Was like $54. I didn’t buy that one just these two upper decks.

Here is the 20-21 UD box. Crazy thing, first two packs I open had identical cards in identical order. Later, another pack matched a pack identically again. I never have seen that.
