    Non Young Guns RCs

Since the 2000-01 season, there have only been two non-Young Guns RCs in UD Series 1 / 2. Who's got the names?

I seem to remember people paying a premium for the Mike Green RC for a time. Not sure why.

I remember back in 2008 or 2009, going to a local card store that was having a card night. I brought a few cards with me to see what was there to trade. A little boy aged 9 or 10 asked what I had and I showed him. When he saw my Patrick Kane YG, he went absolutely insane. He wanted it and asked me what I wanted from his binder. I went through it a couple of times and he really had nothing much, mostly base and inserts. The biggest card he had was a Mike Green autograph card. He was so disappointed when I said that there was nothing I needed.

As the night went on, I kinda felt bad and in the end I went back to him and traded Kane YG for the Green auto. At that time I think the YG was going for about $50 and the Green auto was about $20-$25.

    Oh well!

maybe you "lost the trade" but you helped a young fan who possibly became a collector and youve given him hours and hours of joy
its awesome to get a card of your number 1 guy
even better that he was able to get it thru a trade.
could be the beginning of something great.
    good for you

Oh, I knew that day that I had lost the trade, buy I knew the kid would enjoy it more than me. Also, it was my second copy of the card, so I didn't NEED to to keep it.

Hope he didn't end up trading it for a Nail Yakupov YG!

    Indeed.

I remember when I was a kid, perhaps 14 or so I used to work at the local card shop for store credit and one day an older man came in with a substantial vintage baseball, basketball and football collection looking to sell, and to make a long story short - what he had was way too significant for the owner to buy, tho he did have a Roberto Clemente Rookie, it wasn't in that great of condition - I would say PSA 2 looking back - so I asked the guy what he would want for it, then the old man said "what have you got in your pocket?" I was like "not enough for that card" lol - I mean I had some money at home and if the price was right I would go home and get it but he wasn't interested in that and then asked me again what I had on me at the moment, so I reach into my pockets and I had $2 or 3 bucks and some change and then he gave me a look for a few seconds like I just insulted him - then he started laughing hysterically and said "sold".. I was like "NO WAY" haha, it was fantastic... Of course the LCS owner did indeed give me a look like I just insulted him, lol!!

So yea, I have been that kid before and when I can I usually pay it forward within reason... I mean I would trade a kid a $50 card for a $20 card if his eyes were popping out of his head, I've been pretty liberal with kids on numerous occasions..
