New collecting angle...
Anyone ever think to do late speculation... I mean like a guy has flirted with success, or hit well in certain spots and is changing teams or his team's adding a new player... and you load up a bit for the quick cash-in to fund more purchases in the future? Like for instance, imagine if you'd loaded up on Sosa prior to 2001 or Brady Anderson the year before he jacked 50? I have a couple ideas of guys who may explode this year and would be cheap to grab some stuff of, anyone else?

It's tons harder in baseball though- like who besides an avid Orioles fan had a bunch of Brady Anderson RCs- besides maybe some dude at BALCO?
I kinda like Jonny Gomes- not a ton of RCs, what there are list cheap, and his team basically has nowhere to go but up (he did well in most offensive categories other than having a Rob Deer batting average)...
Also I can see a guy like Josh Willingham having a big upside due to team youth and talent getting experienced together...

yeah, baseball is next to impossible, because stuff is realeased so much in advance of guys getting any PT....football is perfect cause there are ALWAYS guys to make a buck off of if you do your research!! i haven't had the money to do it this year, but instead of buying up the bush's, leinart's, young's, etc, imagine if you spent he same money on gradkowski's (as soon as simms got hurt), colston (had to pay attention to what was going on in NO to catch that one), etc.....man, look at how cheap philip rivers stuff was going for when ben/eli were getting all the snaps!! you could have bought 5 rivers for the price of 1 ben....be looking pretty good now, and it was a given that philip would play (not necessarily how he would play, but he was going to play)....you really gotta do your research and watch a ton of football to invest this way, but i love doing it!! cant wait to get the money to do it again!! oh yeah, and the NFL Network helps too!!

Funny you should use the 3 words "Roy Williams hurts" right in a row like that... every team has to have a #2 receiver and I think that almost every team in the league will have a capable QB after free agency this summer- it's a matter of no one having a good passer rating from a prone position.

kitna was their free agent qb!! and there are guys (like colston before getting carted off today) who were emerging as #1 guys....#2 WRs just dont have any value to them (reggie wayne being the exception)...keyshawn (no value), terry glenn (no value), michael clayton (no value), toomer (no value), housh (no value)....WR is a bad position to invest in anyway!! gotta find the QBs and RBs cause that is what is highly sought after!!
look at a guy like leon washington!! martin is done, barlow is a waste (wasn't good enough to be a starter in SF)....thats the kind of guys you gotta go after....man, do you know how cheap frank gore stuff was in the spring?? look at the difference in early prices for maroney vs. bush!! maroney is playing with a dinosaur and bush is splitting time (at best) with a FRESH deuce who really only has 4 years pounding on his body!! throw me a PM and ill tell you a couple guys i really like for short term investment!!

There's also the risk of loading up on someone, they DO have some pretty good years, but no one seems to care because of the team they play for (Jay Buhner, anyone?)
