y'know a 4-row box is probably a good trade off between mass storage and weight. My 5 row boxes for bulk commons get pretttty heavy when I'm going between them. I use 2-row boxes for specific stuff like my "core collection" cards, which are all decent book value (bv) and sell value (sv) cards. Also smaller run sets go in them as well.

Great, thanks guys. I bought a 2-row from my local hobby shop that fits top loaders. Need to go back and look at my break again after getting all this info!

@crock77 Just so you know there are free downloadable PDF copies of Beckett's available. I won't post that here, because I don't want to break any rules. You can PM, if you would like and I can show you where I get mine from. Now, you will run into the normal issue that the paper copy does not have full access to most sets so it's almost worth buying a one month to the online version, if that is the direction you want to go.

Morning @jplcom and @doniceage. Couple additional questions for you.
1. Panini silvers - It looks like there are base silver and a prizm version that has a refractor element. Is that accurate?
2. Storage boxes - Are there dividers for boxes? Or is there something unofficial you guys use as separators or holders for boxes that aren't full?
3. New card damage - I'm slowly getting addicted and bought another hobby box. Pulled a Trevor silver prizm RC. Quickly noticed something on the back of the card by his name. I gently touched at it and it slowly came off (thin piece). Not sure what it was, but it left a small, thin dent in the card. A little bummed, but still a really nice card. Is this just par for the course? Meaning, is this just part of the game? Sometimes there are manufacturing defects and you just have to deal with it?

Hey there @crock77, here's my take:
1. Panini silver is what Topps would call a refractor. Panini went through a couple different names for it, Holo, Prizms (I know), and finally settled on Silver. I don't think it's an accurate name, but I'm not Panini's marketing person. Also fun fact, some years the rookies by default were "silver". So when completing the set, all the rookies were different and looked like parallels, but they weren't.
2. Yeah I'll usually use a top loader with a 4" piece of paper to denote the year or maybe year/set to divide. You can do by teams, alphabetically, book value, etc. I always sort by year, manufacturer, set name (alphabetically), then card number.
3. Unfortunately no card manufacturer will promise a pristine card out of the pack. As long as there isn't obvious box damage you get what you get. Part of the reason why grading is so popular.

@jplcom thanks for addressing the questions.
@crock77
On point two if your not looking for something to label the cards like mentioned on cardboard. I use a piece of thick styrofoam that fits snuggly in the row to keep cards from sliding around. As the box fills up I can adjust the piece of styrofoam to adjust it to wherever it needs to be until the row is full.

Thanks @jplcom and @doniceage.
1. Nice. What I thought were base duplicates in my first set were actually silvers. Good to know. Topps really set the stage for Panini to come in and run with it.
2. My issue is I have a two row box and not a lot in there yet. I want the top loaders to stand straight so the styrofoam idea is a good one. I'll try that.
3. Yeah, no obvious box damage. Looks like it happened at packaging time. I emailed them, but not expecting them to do anything.
Have a great weekend gents.
