Adam Larsson signs a 4x4 deal with the Kraken, making him their selection from the Edmonton Oilers.

Oh boy. That's gotta be the worst case expansion draft scenario for the Oilers, right?

    did anyone see that coming?

The consensus seems to be Kulak.

Maybe not worst case. Worse would be losing another piece via the expansion draft, and then Larsson signs elsewhere anyway. He was a UFA, Seattle had a window to talk to him - and they agreed to a deal.

I wanted to see him back, so not happy to see him gone. How bad is that? Depends what else they do this summer, I guess.

Cale Fleury from what I've seen plastered all over the place.

There's not really very much drama or intrigue - a couple intrepid folks have already assembled a pretty complete roster based on "sources say" from reputable folks across the hockey world.

It's not going to be much excitement on the TV, and with the names selected aspiring Kraken fans better hope Francis is busy on UFA Day.

I completely agree - I can see them weaponizing 2-3 goalies to immediately trade for other assets - Vanecek, Kakkonen are the easy 2 that I can see this potential for, especially if they select Price and sign Drieger (which could happen today?!?). Detroit and Buffalo absolutely need help in net right now (sorry fellow Sabre fans - I'm not ready to get UPL killed being the #1)

Do the wings really need help in the net? Would a upgrade be nice sure, but if you look at Greiss stats is it his fault? As he put up about the same exact stats as he did in NYI and the records were close to reversed. If Detroit was a better team his record would be nowhere close to what it was but more like NYI imo. Name one legitimate scoring threat on the team as everyone is almost under .5 goals a game average (that is horrible). You can take almost any goalie on any team in the NHL and it would not help Detroit too much. So I think your statement should need Detroit whole team needs help LOL.

No, the Wings need help in net. I agree that Greiss is better than his numbers and the team in front of him certainly needs to improve, but Greiss is also not a legitimate #1 goaltender. I don't think Vanacek or Kakkonen really fixing the problem in net, but they might provide an upgrade to Bernier in the short term. I've heard rumors that the Wings could use their first pick in 2021 on a goalie and I will be very disappointed if that's the case...

You were right it is Fleury. I thought he already got his shot at the UFAs which is how he got Larsson. It was reported that Francis spent a lot of time talking to Landeskog to include being their first Captain but it didn't work out.

Yet another punch in the gut for Max Domi.
