PMG's
As the hockey market continues to see influence from other sports, it seems that people might want to check back in their PC and traders boxes for those Fleer Retro Metal Universe Precious Metal Gems...especially from 2012-13. They have seen a massive surge in sales in the past little while. I think these used to be $15-$20 cards. I saw a couple of Patrick Roy Red /100 sell for north of $500 USD.

So, yeah, have you got any in your collection? I've got a 12-13 Carey Price Red and the full Weber rainbow from 16-17 with the Red /150, Blue /50, Green /10 and Purple /5.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

They look great. Was very happy to find a few in my stash, 2 Ovy's and a Crosby.

Must be the basketball crossover as they always been very insane in pricing on that particular set. Nice luck on your rainbow in your collection. You going to sell or hold on to it?

I know, and I don't get it.. I mean it makes no sense really if you think about it. They're only #'d xxx/100. They're very comparable to Black Diamond Ruby's, I mean for all intents and purposes they're essentially the same thing.
To be honest I really don't know what drives the popularity, I know in basketball these PMG's are really desirable so I presume the 4 sport collectors that only dabble in hockey are driving up the price/value. I had a Gretzky and sold it a little longer than a year ago for $75 (the buyer made the offer) and I thought the guy that bought it was nuts, because when I got the card it wasn't "that" valuable, I mean I would have called it "mid-end" card at the time, but not what it is now.

OH yeah, those are monster cards right now. There was a Sid Green /10 that went for $18K - that's not a typo.

I have a Fucale red (/150 I think) from 15-16. If the hype continues, it might be a good opportunity to move it.

Yup, similar to Prizm, the hype has crossed over to hockey. Can't say it isn't fun to see cards skyrocket like that, if you happen to have a few. Unfortunately I wasn't a big fan of green. Oh well, the /50 and 150s are going way up too.
Also have a Chabot Blue RC/50 I picked for like $5.00. Might still be that price? lol No love for D-men.

I have a Fleury PMG Red /100 in my collection way before the market on these went sky-high. One of these just sold tonight on eBay for $138 USD + $15 for shipping..
Pretty happy with it staying in my PC for now.

I'm hoping he gets some ice time in Washington. I got several cards of him in group breaks, even some decent stuff like a FWAP.
