My Top 10 Hockey Sets and Cards Worth Money / Values List #1: Pre-1962 (Poor Condition)

I decided to dig into one of my bins in Montreal and pull out my Top 10 hockey sets pre-1962, in poor condition. I also satisfy your curiosity by - for a change! - noting the cards in each set with the highest value. This list relates only to sets I own in full or in part, and not ones I do not own. Even as I discuss some card values, I emphasize my attachment to sets in horrendous condition. I do have some duplicate sets in better shape in storage. I will do another list of sets from 1962-63 to the present. I do give away many sets so I will stick to sets I still have.

Hm. Why do I make the cut-off pre-1962? It just shook out that way. As a rule, I leave exacting linearity and compliance to science which I studied far too long. When it comes to hobbies and art, coloring outside the lines is often serendipitous and rewarding. To my mind, with a bit more poetry in the hobby, not all of us will solely cling to the Young Guns and Future Watch Autos du jour, which are pretty uninspired and narrow sets. The hockey hobby is endless beaches and distant shores, not just a sandbox delimited by Beckett, Upper Deck, or box break gamers.

    In conclusion, LET'S GO!!!

You have a nice vintage collection. I don't own any card from before 1970. But, I have a complete 01-02 and 02-03 Parkhurst Reprints set. I really like it, it's an affordable way to have access to all these designs.
