    Topps Spotlight 70

So I had never bought anything direct from Topps until now. I like some of the Project 70 cards, so I decided to try a pack of these. More than satisfied with the results. All FT/FS.

Nice hit. I am truly not a fan of stuff they do to just make more money. I would rather have the original cards from the set above Rogers and Rice than these new cards. Just my two cents.

Thanks for sharing. What was the price for the pack. I assume you picked them up on the topps website?

@doniceage I tend to agree with you, but with the prices of football boxes these days this seemed to be a good route. For a cool $20 this was a pretty good break. Strangely, the Abreu is not in top top shape. Corners are a little dinged and the sticker auto has dirt in it. I’m thinking about contacting CS for a replacement.

I concur with you the prices are crazy but if you keep your eye out there are some killer deals to be had. A member shared in the football section hanger boxes Prestige football for $10. I do not know why folks complain about prices when deals like that are to be had by all.

p.s. Good luck on the replacement as it definitely a nice card.

Thanks I’ve always been a fan of Topps first since I was a kid. As far as Prestige goes it’s really just about retail. To me the last few years, and especially with Panini, the difference between retail, hobby, and combination products has been exploited too much. The exclusive parallels and all that just don’t grab my attention. That’s not to knock them, I actually really like the prestige set this year, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy retail at all. Plus there aren’t a lot of OU picks in the early rounds, so 2021 is kind of a skip year for me. I honestly have rarely opened anything since Topps left football and basketball. I like what they are doing with the artist cards. To me it’s a refreshing twist, but I get how a lot of collectors might prefer something else.
