Need some advice...
I want to get back into collecting football cards again, and need some advice. I could possibly buy a box of football cards soon but can't spend over $120. What are some great boxes that come with a lot of autos and GU for under my price range? Please give me details on prices, how many GU and autos come per box, how many packs per box, etc... .I don't want Press Pass, Sage, or anything like that. Any help will be great. Thanks.

i always get a kick out of these kinds of posts.....do you know how many nice singles you could buy on the bay with $120?? i stopped collecting baseball years ago, but if i were to get back in, i DEFINATELY wouldnt start by busting boxes....buy a bunch of singles / bait to build your collection up, then bust boxes (if you want) once your collection is established.
if you are DEAD SET on busting something, LCM or topps chrome would be my suggestion....turkey red is to be released soon i believe too, really love that product design but not the greatest hit ratio.

Gridiron gear seems to have a nice amount of hits. I just picked up a box of Donruss Classics and I think they are nice cards, but .... my hit's were
Ronnie Brown Sundays Besy jsy
Martin Nance rookie auto
and some ok mojo at this point in time ....
Marques Colston Rookie Auto (NFT)
had you hit the Colston auto when these first came out though, you may have been a little disappointed. No one knew he was going to play like he is. And of course I got about an Average of one #'d insert per pack which are pretty nice.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I have done some research and I think I like gridiron or leaf certified materials.

However, I agree 100% with buying CARDS you want vs "the mystery hit (or as in most cases MISS). $120 can buy ALOT of SWEET autos or rare low serial # jersey cards etc...The most complete/comprehensive single player collection in the world with 95% of his Known cards & 400+ #1/1s.

hey i wouldnt buy this years gridiron gear i have seen a ton of pulls and most of them are misses. Leaf Certified Materials is nice or Fleer Hot Prospects is a nice product too. Hot Prospects guarantees the auto/quad jsy rookie, a jersey, and i believe another auto, while lcm guarantees 4 hits.

Alright thanks so far everyone for the advice. Also, I won't be buying a box, instead I will be asking for one for Christmas, but this thread has given me a couple of good boxes to possibly ask for as a Christmas present. Thanks!
