Getting back into trading

Hey all! I have been in the group since 2010 but have taken a really long hiatus. The last time I was active was 2015, so it is like I am a new collector and new to most of you all. I am a retired army officer who loves to travel. If you are anywhere within 4 hours of Ft. Knox, KY I am willing to hand deliver cards and get lunch/dinner as I take in the historic sites in the area.

I am a huge Lou Gehrig collector and have several player collections I am working on: Jose Canseco, Kevin Maas, Phil Plantier, Mike Mussina, Andy Benes, Steve Avery, Jim Abbott, Ben McDonald, Todd Van Poppel, Ozzie Canseco, and Jake Gibbs. Hi @Chaplain11, welcome back to the hobby and hope you are able to knock off some needs. I like your consolidated trade lists, very helpful! Another fun avenue to grow your player collections is to try your hand at TTM (Thru The Mail) autograph requests. Basically you send a SASE (self addressed stamped envelope), along with 1-2 cards and a written or typed letter to the player. I usually make a request, note how the athlete impacted me, and tell a bit about myself. Some former players sign for free, some charge a little money. Some will sign anything you send, some will keep a couple cards and send back a couple cards. If you want to try and give it a shot, feel free to use one of my custom card designs. Open the image to full screen, print on photo paper and cut along the black lines, Post Cereal style :). It's sized for 300 dpi, so it'll come out 2.5" x 3.5".

JPLCOM - thanks for the note and the heads up! That is neat. I used to be in the Mussina Fan Club many years ago and got an autographed photo each year.
