    Is it worth it

    everyone is talking about busting a $100 box open to only get maby 1 auto and 2 game used would thoes cards be worth 100 bucks. i have never done this because i an 16 and can hardly pay for gas let alone $100 box of cards. I just wanted to know what you think?

    it's a chance you take. 9 times out of 10 you are not going to pull the money card, but you can get lucky.

    its lots of fun, but as far as being able to turn around and make your $100 back, its more the exception than the norm.....ofcourse singles sell much better when a product is fresh (you can usually make your money back on a product within the first couple weeks of its release), but other than that i would say that you have about a 1/10 chance of making $100 on a $100 box....this does vary a little depending on the product, but i would say those are about the average....if this is your plan, you really gotta do it when the product is first released.

    If you want to invest by busting a box, bad idea.....start a Roth IRA or something if that's what you want to do.

    If you want to bust a box to build your collection, bad idea. You can take $100 and buy several very nice cards for that price.

    BUT.....busting boxes is a very fun part of the hobby. If you bust a box, have fun!

    Only buy a $100 box of cards if you can afford to lose $100. When you buy a box you're effectively just gambling; however, that's my favorite part of the hobby.
