I'm not sure I'd want him around my prospects.

Assuming he's putting in an honest effort, and performs well in the AHL (no reason to think he won't) - someone is going to trade for this guy, and get a bargain. If the Sharks are willing to retain 50% (as rumored) and trade him for basically nothing.... some team is going to get a heck of a good player, and it will cost them nothing.
What team wants to put up with him though? By all accounts, he's not an easy guy to get along with, plus there's the off ice issues.
Pittsburgh, Boston, Washington, or Tampa Bay would make a lot of sense IMO. Veteran clubs, elite players that have already won championships... teams still trying to win now... and they've got the kind of players that can call him out if they need to.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see who takes a chance on this guy again. While I wouldn't be surprised if nobody in the league wanted him, I think a team will take another chance on him due to his skill level alone. Getting him at a bargain price as stated above will help, too.

Its too bad, if he just played hockey he's a pretty good player. He hits, he fights & he can score but from what i have seen he's a cancer in the locker room. Someone will take a chance on him, especially at half the price. i would like the Leafs to pick him up & replace Ritchie who isnt living up to expectations especially after what happened in Winnipeg last night. I doubt Kane would have just stood there while Dubois manhandled Matthews like the rest of the Leafs did.
