Wow he just had a big time Fox special this weekend. At least he was alive to watch and enjoy that. The man was an absolute legend and I actually enjoyed watching football when he called games. His video games were pretty good too but I preferred Tecmo to the overly complicated football games they later became.

Wow he was an icon and yes his announcing was great not like today's announcers. RIP brother!

Rest In Peace. I would put John Madden on the NFL Mt. Rushmore with Thorpe, Lombardi, and maybe a Tom Brady. He did so much for the game on and off the field. I remember growing up with the Madden games, and I’m thinking about all the fans he brought to the game with the games. The bus trips. The turducken. The championship and gold jacket. Legend.
