patch vs. jersey.. are they different?

I've been browsing some online collections and notice that some collectors GU cards are labeled patch while others are labeled jersey. Is a patch and a jersey card the same thing?

they are different....patches are usually jsy cards with 2 or more colors, or a single color jsy card that has some stitching from the jsy on it. alot of companies have started distinguishing the 2 on the card itself, by the serial numbering, and by the pricing.

i was under the impression that a patch was a physical patch that was removed from a jersey. a jersey is just a plain swatch.
