Habs rebuilding

So the habs plan on rebuilding with a gm and a coach who have no experience as a gm or coach?

How do you think that will go hockey fans ?

I thought the GM hire sounded like a good one. Plenty of GMs have been good at their jobs, without being a GM before hand. Jeff Gorton is the one really in charge of hockey ops (even if he's not the GM) and I do believe he knows what he's doing.

The St. Louis hire as coach is a weird one IMO. Hiring someone for their first NHL head coaching gig is fine, but he's never coached at a high level, anywhere (at least not on the bench). I did read an article somewhere (don't recall the site) that suggested St. Louis is only going to be the coach for the rest of this season. The record, and how the team does, will have no impact. They didn't hire him as the coach of the future, but rather as an evaluator that Gorton trusts. He's there to give an honest assessment on players... who they should keep, who they should get rid of.

Not sure I necessarily buy that, but some are speculating it.

You sad sacks had best start from the Goalie & work your way out but im guessing at 10.5 Million for a Goalie who allowed 6 Goals to Ottawa last night Including 4 Goals in under 2 minutes, ( to a team almost as crappy as you are) you are stuck with him for however many years that wanna be bum has left!! Kinda hard to rebuild though when your paying players who dont even wanna play for your team!!

With last night's loss we will finish either 31st or 32nd. Amazingly, despite our lengthy losing streak, Arizona has only gained two points on us during that time. They're quite adept at this tanking business.
