Sick, but I think I am the only person that thinks that play isn't really difficult to perform. It's more about timing and positioning than actual execution.

Yes and no. The basic execution of picking the puck up on your stick, by yourself at a slow speed, can be learned in a half hour in your back yard.
On the flipside, to be able to do it at the exact split second the opportunity presents itself, under pressure, in an NHL game, and at a speed required to do it successfully, is exceptionally difficult. If it wasn't, it would be common place. Matthews has tried it, but he rushed and fumbled the puck. A few others have made attempts as well, but no success.
Eventually it will become more common as kids emulate what they are now witnessing.

not to mention... risking the wrath of the coach, if you are not able to pull this off like Zegras does.

And the old guard of former third-line players and bottom-pairing D-men who think "this isn't how the game should be played."
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...
