Let me know if you find the nirvana where no BS exist.
    @cowboys8701

Best of luck in wherever the trading winds take you.

    DON

It's not a nirvana, it's simply following the rules, which very few do anymore, and that's the whole problem with this site anymore.

I think they should communicate with the other party involved if they can not get the trade out. However, if they are not, then there needs to be something done for that. Your post insinuated that people are "lazy", which is not always the case. That is making an assumption about ALL people that do not ship in a "timely" manner.

Yes, there are other things in people's lives that are going to take top priority. To think that a hobby is of higher priority than family and work is absurd. You can say, "it takes 10 minutes" to pack out, but you are also not living in their shoes. You do not know their situation. The best thing to do is to NOT deal with them anymore if you are unhappy with your experience with them. It's really that simple.

Take it from a veteran of this hobby and who has been a member of SCF for nearly 20 years, the majority of people here have been genuine and considerate. I have experienced less than a handful of cases where my dealings with someone was less than satisfactory. As long as I get what I am due, I don't care when I get it. Obviously, if it has been a considerable amount of time, I will always follow-up with the other party involved because, as I said before, I don't live in their shoes. Failing to communicate will result in reporting them to admin through trade manager.

I've tried, but I can't communicate when people don't login for days, or weeks at a time.

"Yes, there are other things in people's lives that are going to take top priority. To think that a hobby is of higher priority than family and work is absurd. So it's okay to make a trade, and break the rules, because something is going on with family, or whatever? BS, it's your responsibility to follow the rules on here. If you don't think you can hold up your end, and follow the rules, then you shouldn't be making any trades, until you have the time.

I've been in this hobby for over 30 years, and it's gotten so many times worse than it used to be. It's not just here, but every where. Many are just lazy, and looking for an "excuse" to not do things how, and when they are supposed to. Point being, stop making excuses. If you think you can't get stuff out on time, then don't agree to a trade. Take some personal responsibility, and stop making excuses.

Also with the cost of gas now these days . I think a post office run of once a week is perfectly acceptable .Also that "10 min" doesn't factor in travel time . I hope you though find what you are looking for in this hobby in the future.

Well, good luck. This is not an airport, no need to announce your departure. I hope you find somewhere that works better for you.

My mail is delivered to my house, and it's a short walk of about 30 seconds to the mail box. There is no reason for me to go the the post office. Also, if you are only going to make one trip to the post office per week, are you going to let the other traders know about this? And what about the rules stating 3 days to ship? Is that no longer in place, because some people don't like it, or can't abide by it? I'm not trying to be a hard ™™™™™ here, but those rules are in place for good reasons, yet several on here have decided that they shouldn't abide by them anymore, for various reasons. Until the rules are changed, they should be followed by everyone, no matter the length of time they've been on the site, or their feedback rating. If the cost of a gallon, or two of gas is going to break the bank for you, then maybe this isn't the hobby for you. All I'm seeing here are countless bad excuses for not following the rules, and the problem with that is, it demonstrates to the newer traders coming in that they don't have to follow the rules either, which isn't good, and is one of the main reasons this site is going into the toilet.

    . Many are just lazy,

your right about this here. There's few Traders on here I wont trade with again. Reason One. the just threw the cards in an old used bubble mailer unprotected, and I'm surprised they arrived with no damage, and reason two. One guy in particular just can't get the cards out in a timely manor and the packing was crap. "He Is Lazy" another I expected a bubble mailer and I received a card/cards in a PWE, along with NO Communication at "All" After I spent 5 bucks to include tracking " Which I Always Provide" and carefully packaged. I felt ripped off here. another "Cheap Lazy Person".

    Greetings:
I like to point out that I have 3 jobs & I try to find time to make deals try to go to the post office when I get free time but I always try to to tell the person who I am dealing with about my situation & most are understanding. As for printing up labels to address my packages I don't have access to do anything like that since I been working from the internet on my phone & do my best with what I can work with. I agree with the 1 member who said we don't know the storyline behind every individual who is on here & if you believe that cards rule the earth that's fine also I have been a member since 2007 & I also agree if you don't like how someone made a deal with you once you receive what you wanted from them your not contracted to deal with them ever again there's been a few people who I have had only 1 deal with but there's people who I like to trade with & I continued to contact them because I find them easy to trade with. I am sorry if you feel like SCF is not the best thing for your collecting needs but I know that without SCF existence I know that I would not have much of a collection or made friends with & speaking for those who don't have a local shop that I am honored to help with what I can help you with & vice-versa. I also know that in the feedback section I thank those people who are able to knock out a bunch of my needs. I feel honored as well when they say the same thing about me in their feedback comments. In conclusion I truly hope that you reevaluate things & understand where some people are in trading on here.

Sorry to hear about your past few trades on here David. If you feel it's best to walk away, that's your choice. We will always be here if you ever get the Hobby Itch again.

In general, I would encourage folks to report any issues with trades via the Dispute Manager. Staff can't help when vague issues and insinuations are provided after the fact. We want this to be a fun and helpful place for folks to help build their hobby and helps others do the same. As long as expectations are set prior to agreeing to a trade I think most are understanding.

I would never ship from my mailbox. With porch pirates and the folks sharing kids in the neighborhood picking up mail just randomly of random houses and just taking packages Hell no will I ever put something in the mail box. I used to do that occasionally but I personally love to share a photo of the receipt if folks ask about where the package is or share with them the cost of shipping the post office charged.
