    Good deal on Bird Rookie??

I found a couple of people at work who also collect cards, and this one guy, a big Yankee fan had a Bird RC.

I gave up a Dimaggio GU, Maris GU, Jeter GU, Reggie Jackson GU and a Mark Clayton SPX auto/JSY for it. Seems like I gave up a lot, but what do you guys think. ( It's only Yankee cards....lol)

Personally, I think you made the right move! The hardest cards to give up was probably the Dimaggio... i know I got one too and I just cant seem to let it go! on the other hand you got a Bird/Johnson RC and in my opinion two of the games greatest players.... Great trade in my book!!!!

the Julius Erving I think is a Rookie also (maybe not, maybe I'm thinking wrong and I forget when he first played)...BV of your Bird card is BV $300 and ranked as #1 card in the hobby. Great trade and congrats!

Julius Erving was 72-73 I believe. I used to have two of his RC's. The Bird/Magic RC w/ Erving is 80-81.

one way to look at it is you hardely ever see gu cards go up they usually always stay the same value where the bird rc will probally never go down in bv and will only go up so if it wasnt a good deal right now it will be in the future just my 2 cents but nice looking card

I think the trade is pretty close, with the edge to you. The GU'd you gave up were pretty cool, but you got one of the important cards in history!!!

The condition of the Magic Johnson rookie (cuz he's MY fav) is decent. I wonder if he has a better one or plans on getting another.

Either way, great score, I would be happy with it!!!

    That's a nice one...my Magic/Erving/Bird is only a PSA 7.
