After reading this, I thought I had an idea of what had happened. However, I just watched an auction that I wanted to bid on. I used a sniping program as I can never remember to bid and I don't like to bid early. As I watched the auction, it counted down to zero but hadn't changed the high bid which I was well over ( and my snipe hadn't registered). After the timer reached zero, my screen started blinking every few seconds showing the timer counting down from 20 seconds in 4 second increments. My snipe then went in and won the auction, but it was really something I have never seen before.

Yup that is what has happened to me multiple times recently, except I have lost most of the auctions. Figured I had a winning last second bid only to have the timer go back 20 seconds. I didn't realize there was a program for sniping, might have to check it out.

I have been using the app with no issues. Where is everyone seeing this issue, the app or computer?

i have noticed that when the item ends
it doesnt say right off if you won or not
there is a message that reads
we are determining the winning bidder please refresh the page.
it does take a few seconds before letting me know if i won or not
sometimes 10 seconds sometimes longer
is this a new "feature" to assist the bidder - doubtful
but know that i read your posts it is making me think a bit

^Ice, I get that too but this is something altogether different and to quote the Beav, " kinda creepy". I took a video with my phone of an auction yesterday but can't get it to my computer. But at the last 10 seconds there was no action on the bidding. At zero, it seems to freeze and then at 24 seconds to go it flashes 24 seconds on screen for a split second before it goes back to zero. Then it flashed 17 seconds, back to zero. Then 13 seconds and so on every 4 seconds or so until my programmed snipe hit with a few seconds left. I'm not sure if you can even manually bid or if when it refreshes, it resets the bid box. I haven't tried it. Then at the end of this 30 second or so period, the timer stays at zero with the green banner on the top saying either they're determining the winner or to refresh your screen for results.

Update to my post: I was watching an auction today and let it expire without bidding. It went through the flash countdown and meanwhile, I tried to throw in a bid but wasn't fast enough. Every time it refreshed, it wiped out my bid before I could enter it. Looks like it's full time sniping program.
