Honestly, they were just SOOOO outmatched and pathetic. The faster this thing was over, the better. Cashman will have a lot of explaining to do, though I sadly don't expect him to get fired. George would have canned him today, 9 am sharp. They'd have had his office packed and boxes waiting for him in the lobby the moment Cashman walked through the door. One world series appearance in 20 seasons. The worst drought in franchise history with the highest payroll in at least 60% of those 20 seasons...

George would have canned him last year! If they keep him, he better get a World Series like team for next year or he will be gone for sure. Boone will be back; it sounds like from Steinbrenner!

Yeah, Steinbrenner said Boone is back.
I really hope Steinbrenner tells Cashman "you get 1 more shot - win or go home" and then Cashman just rejects the offer and walks.
